Prathinidhi 2 Review: A Mediocre Attempt at Political Drama

Overview: Telugu cinema recently witnessed the release of “Prathinidhi 2,” starring Nara Rohit and directed by Murthy Devagupthapu. This film, which marks Rohit’s return after a hiatus, had garnered attention for its promising storyline. However, the execution failed to match expectations, resulting in a rather lackluster cinematic experience.

Synopsis: The plot revolves around a fearless journalist, Chetan (played by Nara Rohit), appointed as the CEO of the news channel NNC, aimed at exposing corruption in politics. As the story progresses, Chetan embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind the assassination of CM Prajapathi (Sachin Khedekar). While the first half of the movie showcases the protagonist’s efforts to reveal political malpractices, the second half focuses on the investigation into the CM’s murder.

Pros and Cons: The film’s strength lies in its first half, where the narrative delves into the corruption prevalent in politics. Rohit’s portrayal of a dedicated journalist earns praise, along with the engaging dialogues and Sapthagiri’s comedic track. However, the movie loses its grip in the second half due to an illogical and overly dramatic portrayal of the investigation process. The director’s attempt to infuse commercial elements detracts from the film’s intended message, resulting in a disappointing viewing experience.

Technical Aspects: While the editing maintains a fast pace, Mahati Swara Sagar’s music fails to leave an impression, and Nani Chamidisetty’s cinematography is only passable. The director’s decision to include unrealistic scenes and poorly executed VFX work further diminishes the movie’s credibility.
