PoTA Celebrates Ugadi Festival in Warsaw, Poland
Warsaw, Poland: The Poland Telugu Association (PoTA) celebrated the Telugu New Year, Sri Krodhi Nama Samvatsara Ugadi, and their inaugural annual festivities with grandeur in the capital city of Warsaw. The Polin Museum came alive with the essence of Telugu culture, adorned with vibrant decorations and a festive atmosphere. Traveling Telugu enthusiasts from Poland’s roots also graced the celebrations.
Notable attendees included Ms. Naghma Malik, Honorary Consul of India, European Parliament Members, and distinguished guests from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. PoTA’s Ugadi celebrations served as a platform to promote Telugu culture and language, uniting the Telugu diaspora in Poland.
Under the leadership of Swathi Akkal, Niharika Gundreddi, and Bhavani Kandula, a captivating Telugu drama and monologue performances featuring iconic characters like Potana, Alluri Seetharamaraju, Tenali Ramakrishna, Rudramadevi, and Yama lured the audience into the world of Telugu literature.
President Chandra Bhanu, in his address, expressed gratitude towards the participants, especially mothers encouraging their children’s involvement in Telugu arts, and emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Telugu heritage.
The event was graced by renowned personalities Vishweshwari Gadepalli and Anuradha Srinadhu, whose eloquence added charm to the proceedings. Little India Poland and Poland Brands sponsored the event, enhancing its grandeur. Products from Priya Foods, Telugu Foods, and India Gate Basmati Rice were distributed as tokens of appreciation to over 450 esteemed guests.
Highlighting the evening was a live musical concert by renowned playback singers Prithvi Chandra, Saketh Komanduri, and Manisha Eerabathuni, accompanied by their band ‘Ichhipad,’ captivating the audience with their mesmerizing performances.
Key members of PoTA, including Shashi Katragadda, Sridevi, Rajyalakshmi Dhumant Rao, Asha Perumalla, Sandeep Srinadhu, Suresh Perumalla, Bapiraju Dhumant Rao, Shailendra Ganguly, Praveen Velugolu, Ram Satish Reddy, Subbiram Reddy Gundreddi, Kiranmayi, Sahithi, Bhavani, along with student volunteers, played pivotal roles in organizing the event.
The participants expressed overwhelming joy and gratitude for the unforgettable experience, as expressed by Saketh, Prithvi, and Manisha. Their elation was palpable, leaving everyone in high spirits.
